Well, I’ve finished my last day in work for three weeks, and am now fully in holiday mode Collected our travellers’ cheques and cash today so now the only things left to sort out are packing, some planning of what to when we get there, and some swotting up on directions by yours truly

I’ve had the place to myself this past week so have been keeping myself occupied by chatting online and watching tv, which I don’t do that much of normally. Have mostly been watching US sitcoms such as Spin City, Third Rock From the Sun and Friends, and any films that have happened to come on. Tonight I think I’ll see Kiss the Girls, as much for Morgan Freeman as anything, although I may decide on a dvd instead, who knows.

Been getting a lot of headaches lately (got one now in fact) - I think partly due to staring at monitors all day and partly due to holiday induced stress! Either that or my eyes have improved again but if it ceases bothering me while in Florida I’ll assume it’s computers If not I might try the opticians again…

Speaking of Florida, everything is now pretty much sorted I think. Still have to collect travel monies and pack but other than that nothing really to do

We had our plane tickets arrive yesterday for our now very rapidly approaching trip to Orlando, so now all we’re waiting for are park tickets and car hire stuff and wotnot Really looking forward to it now, especially as I’ve managed to secure three weeks off from the bank holiday to the 16th September!

Have also now finally started reading the latest Harry Potter book, having been re-reading the previous ones up to now, and so far it’s proving to be very very good indeed Looking forward to seeing the new film of book 4 in a few months as that one should have the Quidditch World Cup and the Triwizard Tournament in it….if done well that should look amazing!

Had a very productive weekend Got home on Friday to find that Kev had done some rearranging in the lounge, which continued for most of Friday evening until pizza was ordered, and then I spent some time sorting the kitchen and as a result we now have a (mostly) immaculate lounge and kitchen There’s still some work to do - the bedrooms need sorting at some point and the sofa bed in the lounge is still covered but for the first time since we moved in it feels like a proper home!

Saturday DaveB came over and the afternoon was spent having lunch in Seven Stars and then back at our place playing GT4 which, it has to be said, has some pretty amazing graphics. Yesterday was spent reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire for the most part - a book and a bit to go and I can start reading the new one!!

Last night Kev and I went to Starz Bar along with his brother, brother’s gf and parents to celebrate his brother’s birthday and a good time was had by all! Our waitress was lovely, the food was even lovelier (I had Louisiana Lamb which was very nice altho I think I’ll stick to ribs there from now on as they are the best thing evar!) and much laughter ensued throughout the evening

Afterwards we went back to his brother’s place where we had some gorgeous chocolate cake baked by his gf - I have now promised to take over homemade cookies next time we visit them as I took brownies last time and they seemed to be a hit

Anyways, it’s now Friday so I’ve got a few more hours to get through before hometime and the weekend Shall prolly go to the gym a bit later on to get away from computers and the office (which is rapidly turning into a garden centre), and tonight may well end up teaming with Kev to do an instance in WoW (ST - worst one ever), having attempted it on Wednesday and failed abysmally due to incompetence, some of which was on my part and none of which was on Kev’s, as is usually the case, what with me being crap and him being quite good at these things.

It’s Tuesday and I’m in work as usual waiting for hometime Not leaving til 6 today as I didn’t get in until approaching 10 and took a couple of hours off for lunch as I met Kev for foods Technically I should probably stay here til 7 or so but sod that quite frankly - I am going home and having a nice long hot bath

I feel like a bath which is just as well atm as our shower doesn’t work (or more specifically the bit which flicks from bath to shower doesn’t work) and we have a plumber coming out tomorrow. This is what I like about renting - as long as it’s not your fault, stuff gets fixed and you don’t have to pay for it

Went to see Kev’s brother’s new place on Friday and it’s really nice; it was ready furnished, is in a nice spot and looks lovely inside so you can’t ask for much more than that. On Thursday we’re all going out for a meal which I’m really looking forward to

Am in the middle of re-reading the Harry Potter books before starting the new one, and just started The Prisoner of Azkaban today. I’m not bad on the first three now, but 4 and 5 I can’t remember a thing about and I don’t want to start a new one without being able to remember what happened before it. It’s hardly a great chore to read them again anyways JK Rowling is a highly imaginitive person - I’d forgotten how many twists and turns there are in Chamber of Secrets, and how fantastic a caricature Professor Lockhart is!

Oh well, an hour to go….roll on hometime!
