So, a week and a bit ago a lovely friend of mine, Diane, posted on Facebook about a song writing workshop (this song writing workshop, in fact) that was going ahead and wondered if anyone wanted to go along with her. Wasn’t all that long ago, I’d have read this and thought “hrmm, that sounds fun, but I’m probably far too rubbish and it’s probably not really for me anyway so I won’t bother” – this time, for whatever reason, I decided to stop after the “hrmm, that sounds fun” bit and within the hour I was paid up and registered.
And so it came to be that I went to a song writing workshop last weekend, wrote some words, came home again, my wonderful-and-handily-capable-with-a-guitar husband Kev gave me a tune and recorded some chords for me to sing to, and voila – an actual proper song, with verses, chorus, a bridge and everything!!
(I’ve been asked to add that Kev apologises for the guitar being rubbish – which it isn’t, but I’ll add it anyway.)
